We want to hear from you so that we can build a National Volunteer Strategy that reflects the experiences and the needs of all Canada’s volunteer eco-system and communities.
Community Activator Partnerships
Volunteer Canada invites non-profits, organizations, and community collectives to co-create the National Volunteer Action Strategy (NVAS) and enhance community engagement. By participating, you can help shape the future of volunteerism and community participation. Partnerships are open to groups with programming scheduled from June 1st to September 2nd, 2025, with a focus on equity-seeking populations. In exchange for sharing NVAS Surveys, completing the Organization Survey, promoting NVAS engagements, and attending at least two NVAS Workshops, Volunteer Canada will sponsor an upcoming community event or program designed to engage your community.

NVAS Workshops
NVAS Workshops: Join the Conversation on the Future of Volunteering in Canada
The National Volunteer Action Strategy (NVAS) Workshops are a series of free, online conversations bringing together people from across Canada to help shape the National Volunteer Action Strategy. Open to everyone—from long-time volunteers and non-profit staff to community leaders, social impact changemakers, and those just getting involved—these sessions are a space to share ideas, learn from each other, and imagine what’s possible for volunteerism in Canada.
From June to September, sessions will be scheduled to explore key topics like decent volunteerism, volunteer wellbeing, emergency readiness, and how organizations can better support the people who give their time and talents. With participants joining from coast to coast to coast, these workshops are about raising our collective voice and collectively strategizing to co-create a stronger, more inclusive future for volunteering in Canada.
All sessions are held online and include French interpretation.
NVAS Round Tables
From January to October 2025, we’re hosting virtual and in-person National Volunteer Action Strategy (NVAS) Round Tables in collaboration with our provincial, territorial, subsector, and community partners. These sessions bring together volunteers, volunteer engagers, non-profit staff, and sector leaders to share insights and shape the future of volunteering in Canada.
